Best way to clean LCD?

What is the safest/best way to clean a laptop (LCD?) screen? I used an air can for the dust, but I need to get a couple smears off too

I get a bit of toilet roll, dampen it with some plain old tapwater, and just wipe the screen with it.

I dont get a dirty screen cos i paid the £20 for a proper screen guard that sits perfectly in the inside edge of the screen.... but then you have another problem. how do you clean the screen guard without scratching that lol DOH!
actually i cheat, i used to be a cleaner and we had these special glass cleaning cloths ( i say HAD ) that were £7 for a pack of 5, made by vileda, add the tiny drop of water and clean away any smears and grease with absolutely no scratches whatsoever, machine washable lol and they clean cd's without scratching too . failing that i use the cloth that came with my mobile phone to clean its TFT with, small but effective. but yes, i agree, please dont use toilet roll, you will find it leaves more bits of fluff behind than it removes and CAN scratch.

 

S£$T roll is made of paper/wood and will scratch your screen over time,kitchen roll is made of cellulose and is much better,but a cheap yellow window polishing cloth is the best,you mum will have one
