Best way to 'lock' an external hard drive ?

How to lock, with password, an external HD ?
Browsing got 'folder-lock-en.exe', but not sure need other programs with XP etc.
If do need, does OA recommend a program ?
Am sure this question has been asked many times b4, but couldnt find it with 'search', and no 'similar threads'. :confused
Thoughts, link, etc ?

 

There's a freeware, open source application called TrueCrypt you could use. Make sure to get the documentation for it as well.

Downloaded and tried TC, but wasnt very easy to determine how to simply set a password for an external HD.
The Manual didnt seem that helpful, but will keep trying to figure out.
Online reviews looked good.
Maybe too 'un-simple' of a program, or too much of a simplicity user need, for this user ? :-o
