    i have 2 physical harddrives.
one is 80gigs, other is 160 plus
whats the best way to partition them?
going to reinstall winXPro...was told to partition them all into equal parts.
    right now i have
    40 for C: drive,
    10 for my mp3z,
150for my pictures (mainly photography stuff, NEF files, from my digital SLR) and then another
40 for multimedia stuff (various pictures, files, videos, etc)
whats the best way to partition all these to optimize speed and performance on the computer, thanks :)

You can partition it any way you want it. I just have one big chunk and keep separate folders for stuff like MP3s and Pictures. It is alll your choice

Multiple partition's are a good thing!
The master HDD make the first partition for windows, for XP, I'd make it somewhere between 10 & 20gb, then the others it all depends what your using for.
Pictures, movies, eat up lot of space.

Some folks like one big partition, I dont, more chance to loose important data.
I load windows & main programs on one small partition, if I crash I still got all my data on the other partitions.

There is really no set way to setup it's personal preferance.
It's best to give alittle thought before you load windows, think about what your going to store
