I would like to transfer a bunch of family vhs tapes to DVD. This is all new to me so of course I have a few uestions:

    - Should I buy a card such as the Leadtek WinFast TV2000 XP Expert - TV / radio tuner / video input adapter - PCI? Would this allow me to connect a VCR or camera into the computer and transfer it directly onto a hard drive in turn which could be burned onto a DVD via computer? If this card does not do this, what would?

    - Or should I just invest in a pure hardware VCR/DVD copier?

    - Or, is there a different route I should take?

    Thanks for any info.

If you have a digital camcorder, most of them can convert analog to digital. then all you need is firewire card on your computer. if you don't want go to all trouble then buy the VHS DVD machine. you wont be able to edit. The DVD will be a copy of the VHS tape.
