    Happy Thanksgiving!
I built a computer for gaming on a large screen HD monitor(57"). I want opinions as to the best wireless keyboard and mouse for gaming purposes. Players will be sitting about fifteen feet from the screen. Your opinions/suggestions are welcome. I have a remote gamepad that works great for games that require it.

    Thanks in advance!

For gaming purposes, all wireless mice are bad. The batteries will die quickly and always at inconveinent times.

not only that, but i've heard that the response times of wireless keyboards/mice are slower and are more noticeable during fast paced games...i don't know from experience, just from others that i talk to...thats why you never see wireless items marketed for serious gamers, one that comes to mind is the fatal1ty line of products.

Thanks for the response. My problem is then twofold. I don't want/can't have wires running across the room for safety reasons and all wireless keyboards/mice are bad for gaming. There must be a solution. Let me ask this then; IF you had to stay with wireless is there a brand that you would recommend? Which would be better; an optical mouse or laser? Thanks again.

Keyboards aren't too problematic, since they use AA batteries. Mice run on AAA's which die fast. I've never had problems with response time on keyboards. There are mice which will run off transmitted power from the computer without seperate batteries, but I don't have a recommendation off-hand.

Alternatively, depending on your flooring circumstance, consider a USB hub with a single cable running along the floor. Tape it down on hardwood floors, or put a rug over it on carpet. Or several rugs. It solves both power and response problems.
