Is there a GPU made by EVGA that competes with an ATI Radeon HD 5770?

would 2 GTX 260 bridged be better?

would the GTX 260 be direct X 11 compatible with an update?

    Hi MagasCorada

I`m not to sure but I don`t think there is an evga card out there that directly competes with the ATI 5770.

If your thinking of nvidia s3d in the future then the 2x260gtx SLI set up would be great.

Having said that the ATI solution is DX11 and better at scaling and if you run windows7 and have the room (and expantion slots) you could run an nvidia card along side the ati dedicated to physX.

The only real reason I'm asking about this is because the MOBO I want is set up for SLI right off the bat and says nothing for CrossfireX... but does it really make a big difference? The Mobo is the EVGA P55 FTW 200.

If you already have a GTX 260, then sli'ing them is prob the best idea.

But if not, then go for a GTX 275 or a 280 if you got the cash.

Are you looking into buying a new GPU. or just asking?

If you are, then giving us a budget would really help us select a card.

I really wasn't looking to spend over $300 on a GPU but I really really REALLY want to stick to Nvidia because I trust it more then ATi... but it's starting to look like ATi is a better card. =[

Would I need DirectX11? What's it for exactly? Do any of Nvidia's cards support it?

nVidia IMHO is better $:performance ratio compared to ATI.

The GTX260 AFAIK is already DX11.

I have tried a number of different cards but always come back to Nvidia.

Without doubt the GTX 295 is lightening fast but does not come cheap and there is a better card on release on 26 march that if all reports are correct will make it look slow, The GT100 or Nvidia firmin. (release price around $700 to $800)

As mentioned earlier if you have a GTX260 now and want to SLI with another it will give you a fantastic graphics setup.

nVidia has no DX11 cards out yet, only a demo so far, Nvidia showcases new DX11 technology at GDC 2010, it's basically for uber gamers for when the games do come out in DX11. A gamer would know the answer to the DX11 question of when games are scheduled for that release. New bleeding edge hardware comes out first, then the software geeks figure out how to utilize the extra power. It's a never ending game of leapfrog!:-D I like my GTX 260 and would/will get a second one.

Thanks guys! One more question for you though. Would it be smarter to buy just 2 GTX260's? Or but a GTX275 and then a GTX260?

Yes it was/is in W7 but not in DX11 capable video cards until now.;) Easy mistake to make.:)

I you buy a 260 and then sli it with a 275 i am pretty sure the 275 will run at the same speed as the 260, so no gain.

Also buying two 260s is not far short of the 295 and that is a dual card with better performance the 2 X 260.

As said, buying a 275 and a 260 would be a waste of money, the 275 would be forced to run slower than it's capable of.
