BF 1942 Newbie: Help on loading mod

I have downloaded a couple of mods for BF 1942 (Galactic Quest and Interstate 82), they both show up in the "custom game" menu, and when I activate them, their graphics and custom intro screens show up fine, but I'm still only given the option of playing the standard maps. I think I'm missing a step in there somewhere, and I've been looking all over the net for a FAQ or tutorial on just the basics of loading mods, but no luck.

Any help would be appreciated.

You are not clicking on single player are you?

Also go to http://bf.filefront.com/ and look for the mod launcher - lets you load the mods instead of loading vanilla 42 first

 

When are you given the option to play the regular maps.... in singleplayer, multiplayer lan co-op, multi-player internet? If on the net there might just not be a server up at the time.

You can choose which game mod to search for on the net----by your filter list (no password, populated, dedicated.....etc....) you will see a triangle. If you click on it, it will then drop a menu down and you can choose the mod to list when you search for your games. if nothing comes up then no one is posting one w/your parameters.

I'm trying single player first, so that I can learn the weapons and vehicles and such. Is that not possible? I'll try the mod loader. Thanks for the help! I'll let y'all know if that works.

 

I think that the problem is that the mods that they are coming out with only support the multiplayer format of the game. I would doublecheck to see if they are single player capable on their main website. If you dont have it already download Desert Combat, there you can play single player aswell as multiplayer.

Yep both galactic conquest and interstate do not support instant action or multi-player co-op. Only multi-player conquest. Just hop on online and start shootin!!! (or driving I guess).

You should check out desert combat and dont forget DC final!

The way to do it is:
choose multiplayer - create game - and choose co-op from the game type
any co-op supported maps are listed there
