This is a simple yes or no question, please do not accuse me of pirating. Read entire post before replying back to call me an 1ll3g4l h4x0r.

Here's the situation, i was trying to free up some hard drive space on my laptop. I decided to uninstall 1942 since only thing i've been playing lately is bf2 (purchased DVD box version). Sooooo, i uninstall desert combat .7, and then 1942. i go to "test" our internet connection by finding a server. BF2 loads into main menu just fine, i can browse the server list, look in my BFHQ section at my pretty awards etc, everything works fine until i try to connect to a server. I get the "Connecting to Server" box and and then poof, rtight back to the server list.

Now generally this isn't a problem... except.... the product key is at home, in it's pretty little case, while i'm at work.... working....

I don't know how many of you are married but would you call your wife and ask her to get you the product key for your favorite game so you can reinstall it... at work...?

i didn't think so. so... does anyone know of a utility that can give me just my product key back?

i tried reloading the latest 1.02 patch and it says it can't find the bf2 installation directory. Now how that is, i'm totally lost. I just need to know if someone knows of a utility, i know pirating is wrong and that's why i BOUGHT the game. i'm just a wuss who does not want his wife to know that he works SO hard everyday....

And before you criticize me for playing at work, my boss plays too so :p

And it is confirmed, if you bought the DVD version (only one we've tested on) and install BF2 then uninstall 1942 it breaks BF2 lol. just got my boss to fall for it. I couldn't get my coworker to fall for it and he has the CD version. he knew it broke mine so he won't try it.

Alas i finally gave up and called the wife.... and told her a coworker wanted to try the game but i didn't have the product key to install it. rofl She didn't even think twice before muttering ok.

I would, she wouldn't care as long as I brought home the money ;)
