BF2 some one please help

ok, I have battlefield 2 and never installed any patches so today i installed the 1.22 patch. when i go to start the game the screen terns black and then gos back to the desk top and notheing happens. what should i do. the game workd before i installed the patch.

 

BF2 releases two kinds of patches, incrememtal and complete. If you downloaded a 1.21 to 1.22 incremental patch, it will not work unless you had 1.21 on your computer before. I would check which patch you downloaded first.

 

i downloaded the full patch, i also uninstalled the game and installed the 1.21 full patch and it to screws the game up all it dose is the screen gos black one again and then nothing back to the desk top.

 

Have you tried updating your video drivers? I think I read that they did have some issues with ati. Just a thought

 

Yes that is correct, patch 1.22 had issues with ATI drivers, so check that you have the very latest from www.ati.com

Did I interpret correctly that it was working before you obtained patch 1.22?

 

i have a geforce 6600 256mb,
the only time the game works is when i install the game and its running on the default patch its like 1.02 or somthing, and if i try to up date the patch it screws up. ive tryed to update all the drivers and still nothing.

 

You're definitely installing the full patch and not the incremental?

Try obtaining patch 1.21 then using the incremental 1.22.

I'd also speak to EA about this, as you're drivers are up to date obviously if it runs the game without any patches.

Im having the same problem once i installed the 1.22 patch.

 

if you find out how to fix it let me know. im just playing the game with out any patches jut the one it came with.
