BF2 Tweaks

So i need some tweaks for BF2 guys...had it a while...and i need to see if i can get a bit more out of it.
iv got a 2Gig cpu...256Mb Graphics(uses some ram to get more graphics)
2meg connection for web(did use USB till i found Ethernet faster for gaming)

the biggets problem i have is FPs....on some BF2 servers im maxing out my in game FPS at 100...it refuses to gimme more then has fit and looks like im stumbling in game cus of it...then theres other servers where it sucks bad...so bad i barely get 10/15 FPS (i try to avoid those 1s)

any ideas on how to unlock the FPS and either gimme more or turn it off period.....i also currently have all the visual graphics turn on lowest or off except for viewing distance..thouhg if i can get the better FPS or that sorted il turn them up

other thing is....SOUND...iv heard that using Hardware sound for BF2 uses less resources than software...if this is true...any1 no how to set up the hardware? cus everytime i try...its soooooooo loud that i gotta turn the music to the game off...and the effects down to 1 or 2 on the 15 to 100% scale.

any other tweaks/tips u guys might have for it wud be handy to
