Hey guys for the past 6moths every now and then while playing a game my whole screen will make funny colors then the sound will sometimes CRACKLE then it would go black and say it lost connection. At this time i Look at the video card and its TOTALLY OFF.The fans are off, I touch it and its pretty hot.Every single thing in my computer are still running though EXCEPT my video card!.So I shut off the computer and reboot.Video card works once again ,but it says Overcloking Failed when yah reboot it.It happens like once every 1-2 days.Sometimes even more what could cause the whole video card to shut off until I reboot? is it overheating? then why would it turn back on right when I reb00t the computer? can someone help me out! TY

It only happens in some games btw! usually the ones that the graphics are awsome.

Have you done any overclocking yourself? Maybe return it to BFG if its still under warranty, they overclock their cards at the factory so this sounds like a problem on their part. If you dont wanna do that, it may be just a bad fan and an overheating card.

as far as i know, the nvidia temp monitor is the ONLY way to monitor temps, well nvm, Everest can do it but ive not noticed a difference between the two. My 6800XTreme which is VERY overclocked (by both myself and XFX) runs about 52-55C idle and mid 60s in game so yours sounds a bit high. You could just buy an Accelero X1 and even if the temps arent the problem it would drop them by quite a bit while ruling out a possible cause of the problem. (they are also silent) They are only about $20 and are one of the best, if not the best, VGA coolers out there.
