BHODemon question

BHO Demon always locks up when I try to check for updates. The little update pop-up just runs and runs and runs and does not stop until I close BHO Demon. The program will tell me if there are any updates or not but I cannot get the pop-up to disappear without closing the whole program. Is this a known glitch or have I, in my never ending computer illiteracy, done something wrong? Thanks!
