Prices were done on newegg.com... did you shop around when you bought yours? I bet i could find better deals. Any foreseeable problems? bottlenecks? guides online or anything that could help?

15k rpm raptors kick arse. recently installed about 10 workstations with these included at a clients and although loud they are really good quality & fast.

i would also go with the ASUS mobo, especially if you want to overclock your pc, as once they are set up well they are incredibly stable.

the graphics 8800s are pretty much still the best out there...

the cpu cooler i would hold off on, unless you plan on overclocking your cpu. the quad cores run very low temps even under load (mine runs about 24 deg C normally, and doesnt go over 50 deg C even under heavy prolonged load (CPU intensive 3d renders) with the standard CPU heatsink/fan. so id see how it and after seeing the temp, make a decision.

id also go with corsair memory - fast, stable, lifetimewarranty & quick with warranty returns
