Big Driver Problem!

This problem began a few days ago. I'll just list what may be important:

-I returned home and the screen was black, computer unresponsive
-Upon restart the screen remained black and the monitor green light blinked on and off
-Uninstalling the video card drivers in safe mode allows me to boot normally using whatever default is (Video Controller)
-After using Driver Cleaner pro and everything, the computer still gives me a black screen after reboot and driver install (Catalyst)
-I can again get into safe mode, or uninstall the Catalyst and get into normal mode. Note that the computer runs horribly at this point and everything is slow
-I have tried different video card drivers.
-When I navigate to device manager and display adapters it shows that the Video Controller is not properly installed, but I can't do anything about that
-When I reboot it says "Found new Hardware" for the Video Controller, when I automatically install the computer just freezes after a black screen
-After installing the Catalyst drivers (but before reboot) it says that the drivers are not installed properly in device manager

I am incredibly frustrated right now and at wits end. I have tried for hours and hours to fix this!

P4 2.4 GhZ
Radeon 9200SE
512MB RAM
MotherBoard:
Soyo 94I865PE Plus DRAGON2
Bus Clock:133 MhZ
BIOS: Phoenix Technologies

I would suggest you see if the chipset driver is up to date, from motherboard site.
Intel does not list one for the 865pe .
Then have an on-line driver scan to determine your graphics card driver.
You can get a free scan from www.driveragent.com
Others will, probably give more advice - I have not found your motherboard manual, yet.

You may, or, may not have had all that information, but I like to see it as if I was building it, and have all links, driver sources available.

After trying everything endlessly, still no luck. I was told that my video card may be finished, though I hope that isn't the case.

 

You could download this tool, and run some tests, before giving up on it.

If the card is not that old, you could try to RMA it- see if it is valid for RMA, and download the form.
