How do i say this,,, built last year feb. and the first machine i attempted to build.. i have been having glitches ever since... when trying to play D&D online it hangs and a god awefull pop comes from the speakers followed by a tone that is high in pitch...error stated generic Host of Win32 audio... Directx is current.

    my specs are
    4400 x2 939
    Asus A8N-SLI Premium
    520w Power Supply
    Audigy2 ZS Gamer
    x2 512 Corsair XMS DDR 400\ Twinx1024-3200c2pt
    Nvidia 6800 ultra
    2x 74g Raptor

I have no idea what is going on even after formatting and going from a fresh sys. with all base drivers... i can not update my audio drivers for some reason from Creative. Please Hlp

Sounds to me like a bad sound card. However, you need to also make sure the onboard audio is completely disabled, if it exists, else it might be causing problems with the other audio.

onboard is disabled and reltek.. is not installed.. World of warcraft plays ok as well as CS-source.. when i try to install rise of legends it tell me that my audio drivers are not up to date there for it disables something.... i was going to upgrade to a 7950 gt oc and a diff dimm of ram... Oblivion plays with a lil distortion... before D&D online crashes my comp the graphics go all checkered.. so my first thought was graphics card...

This is very interesting I have the same mobo and sound card with the same probs with certain games. This sound card worked perfect on my last rig. I am now thinking there is a conflict between the 2 hardware. Now when I try to install all the software for the sound card it BSODs on boot up. I can only run with the original drivers.

I thought it was my gfx card at first as i was getting strange frame rates etc but now it is happening out of games even desktop when im running winamp.

If you find a fix I love to hear it as it is driving me mad. Actually thinking of buying a new mobo anyway, be interesting if the prob happens with a diff mobo. I might run it without the sound card for a while and see what happens. I let you know how it goes.

Winamp shuts down all the time since new hardware is coming out i was actuall thinking about building a AM2 rig and jsut use some of the hardware off this one.... then i will actually find out if it is the hardware itself or human error
