I have a big 160GB drive full of folders full of contents from other drives moved to it.
for example one folder is Medion's E: drive
next folder is medions C: Drive.
My Dad was writing a cd-rw and there was stuff on it.
He went to erase things that were on it but unfortinatly deleted things off the back up drive.
He deleted 20GB. Canclled it after about 1 minute.
I used tuneup utilities Undelete to get back everything that had gone.
I STUPIDLY selected half the files with out remembering to catogrise them by their conditiopn and im pretty sure most of them were in a bad condition.
Done the scan again and selected all the good conditidon ones and restored them.

Now im in a big mess.
    Now for the questions:
When you delete something does it delete the whole contents of the first folder like medion's E: was the folder with loads of stuff missing.
Stuff in the medions E: folder didnt log in the MFT undelete scan but was corrupt when i went to open it.
For example a big game was 4 GB and it only said 64 KB.
I need a program or something to get back everything thats been deleted in a good condition.
I also notcied that i still had some files in that folder that werent as big as they used to be, they got corrupted but i dont understand how because my Dad clicked cancel and surely it wouldnt have affected them. It said something about a file being too big for recycle bin. the file was 2.8 GB.
It seems to have corrupted quite a lot more in that folder a lot of the things in it read 0KB.
When you delete folders ddoes it do it alphabetically so it would do the E: medion one first and then go onto the C: medion fol;der i said E: medion because it has a ( at the beginning of E:.
Please tell me it wldnt have gone and corrupted stuff in the C: medion folder!!
Also do these MFT scans for deleted things tell u everything thats been wiped?

Is there a bit of software that tells me what is corrupted and where it is what ffiles for example?
The drive is in a state now.
    Im confused to hell.
I cant be arsed to go thru all the mp3s individually.
    Please please please someone help!!

    Cheers

Looking on the bright side...it is possible to recover deleted files on a drive if it hasn't been formatted!!!! When you delete a file it is randomly placed and hidden on an unused portion of the drive!!

If you check out this link below...there are lots of free (and Buy) programs that are geared for file and data recovery!!!! Fortunately...i've never been in a predicament to need to do such, so i'm not sure which one might be better than the other!! However...I know that Major Geeks thoroughly test EVERYTHING they put on this site, so I can't imagine any in the list being a truly BAD program!!

    Good Luck
