big problems

I recently did some clean up on my computer, registry and old files and programs. Now i have all sorts of problems. Now when i'm using internet explorer most pages don't work, at the bottom on the status bar it says done thats it nothing. When i'm on other site, when i click on a link thats javascript nothing happens. And also, now when i try to use windows media player it says internal problems and never starts up. Help
