Big up to MG :)

I just want to Big UP this site! this seems like the best place to do it.

I came online about a month to a month and a half ago. I have not owned a computer for about 10 years or so. My last was an Aniga1200. I have used PCs since then at freinds and familys houses, library etc. But after getting this PC as a gift I have started to get right back into this scene.

I found this site purely by mistake whilst searching for freeware on google. Out of all the sites I found this place excels in all categorys. I didnt even know what a forum was untill a few weeks ago! People on here are freindly and answer all my questions no matter how dumbass they are, and it seems people are welcome no matter what technical knowledge they have. I have learned a hell of a lot allready through reading other peoples posts and posting my own questions.

Id just like to say well done on a great site and keep it up. Also sorry if my posts sound a bit dumb sometimes! Who knows, a year or two of coming on here I might become a bit of an expert myself eh?!

I lurked here for yr on/off b-4 I registered to say thank you, now they can't get rid of me. Only forum I ever joined...and just stayed due to the nice people and wealth of knowledge and yep they do make you smarter by osmosis. I can't break anything anymore! Plus they have cool toys they let us play with

Best thing about MG is no flaming allowed, (maybe a little in the Lounge forum ) so people after advice are not belittled by smart*rse, or sarcastic, replies.

Oh year i remember it all. i used to buy demos from blitterchips [whatever happened to them] by the bucket load. I remember being blown away by Work Bench and thinking it was just amazing. I use to use the speech synth utility for example that was just way ahead of anything else. Learnt to program on it *sniff*. Had a ton of games too, proper multiplayer when you had 4 people using the same keyboard instead of the linking computers together malarky we all do today. If the Amiga could have played doom I would probably never have brought a PC

lemmings is great by the way, good link, but I always fail to get past level 1 cause I just blow them up en masse every time. It never gets boring for some reason. The A500 is back a way on my desk under some papers, I should dust it down and have a game.
