BigFix?

Hi, I've had this BigFix program on my computer for awhile now, and I really have no idea what it's for. I'm wondering if it could be slowing my computer down in any kind of way?

I see that it's evidently some kind of network software? My computer uses a wireless router to connect with another computer across the room from me, but thats it. Is this something I need BigFix for? I'd love to be able to delete it if it wouldn't harm my computer.

I don't see it on the front Page, Humm?? maybe MG found something not so attractive about it.

I believe it used to come bundled with Windows, it came with software bundle on my wifes first EMachine

Do you need it? NO

You can remove it, uninstall it.
Is it slowing down your PC? There are or were two ways to set it up one it runs in the background, the other way is on demand.
Anything that runs in the background can slow things, I'll guess you have other issues as well.

IMO "it was" a good utility for the Novice, providing info on system incompatibilities & offering solutions/fixes as well as updates for Various programs & utilities everything from MS updates to Antivirus updates

 

thanks for the reply! i set it to not appear in the icon tray thing, so i guess that means its not running in the background..

 

I used to use it, too. Then, one day it just "stopped" working.

 

Ctrl-Alt-Del in Xp will bring up the Windows Task manager.
Work your way through the 5 tabs at the top.
Something there may help you track down more info on what is slowing down your PC. Bazza
