I found the same that a vet's medical costs far out ranges that if owner has same procedure (such as yours).

As for your little mate's homesickness, whenever there were times my little companion had to stay at a vet for any reason, I would put on some clothing close to my skin to wear a few hours, then place that item in my little companion's basket. The item with my scent calmed my little mates whenever I tried this little trick. Try it.

 

Covid certainly has changed everything as to how we lead our lives down to the smallest detail as you've pointed out.

How's your little mate going now? My heart goes out to our four-legged or feathery companions when they have to go to the vet. My little mate when I'm in the vet's surgery, if he (the cat) were any closer to me...he'd be behind me. Then when he's returned home, he runs around the place going to and from me as if to say "Oh...Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" Reckon he must have been a dog in some past life by his behaviour

 

Reckon it's your turn now to get some attention after what worry you've had - glad your little pal is on the mend

Bet your little pal regretted being so active. But then, seems to be such a sociable companion and somehow managing.

I am sorry you've had further procedures...but I quite admire your spirit and humour throughout in spite of what's happening. Here's to minimum pain and a speedy recovery to you - as sprite as that shown by deVito (but with more modesty!)
