When I did it, the result was 3 to 2 in favor of Google.

I think the ad campaign states "over half of users prefer Bing."

Statistically, this would be easy to manipulate.

As an example, start asking people to flip a coin five times. As soon as you have a majority of people who came up "heads" three or more times out of five, stop the survey and declare, "In our coin toss test, over 50% of people got heads over tails."
