BIOS / boot problem

My son broke his screen on his Acer Netbook AOA150, ops WinXP, so I don't know the order of events exactlly...but anyways...I bought a new screen and installed it so now my problem is the power light comes on for a few seconds and then goes out- doesn't boot or power up.

I found some great info and have tried loading the fd bios file and flashit.exe on a USB and also a card with reader and tried directly in the slot. I put both files directly on the drive, not in folders blah blah blah. I plugged in the netbook, held the FN and ESC key the pressed power, the light flashes, then the USB or card reader both are accessed, the bios must be loading because it flashes for a few minutes, the power light will even go out then come back on, appearing as if it's trying to reboot but then both the power and the USB goes out and that's it...nada.

So what the heck...???

My 5yrs old little boy is heartbroken, saved HIS OWN "DOLLARS" to buy this thing and I don't have the money to just buy him another one- please help.

 

The following maybe of use as I presume this is also a feature of your Acer netbook.

On my Dells, the Num Lock, Caps Lock and Scroll Lock are diagnostic lights.

After you press the power button and prior to the unit shutting down, is there any sequence that you see.

I have replaced several failed/broken LCD panels from various laptops and usually when the correct replacement is installed, the unit just boots up fine.

Only thing I can suggest is:

1. The LCD panel replacement was not the correct one. There is a label on the back of the panel.

2. The broken LCD panel came about as a result of an impact shock.

Given the sparse info you have provided this is the best I can offer.
