Installed dvd drive last week, a companion to the original cdrw. Both worked but I had to pull the dvd to get the serial number for a rebate. Can't remember for sure, but I believe I hadn't used the dvd until trying today. After getting no response and checking My Computer, its not listed. Bios detects it, device manager lists it, says the driver is installed but can't find the device, code 41. What bonehead move do I need to correct?

Can you see it in Disk Management?

Right click on My Computer, select Manage, choose Disk Management.

I now have disconnected my optical drives, just have hdd and floppy. But the device manager still lists a cd/dvd-rom drive. See the attachment. I have been trying a lot of different dvd programs. Is it possible one of them added this? I am ready to delete it.
