okie dokie. im working on a machine that when you boot up it states the bios is not loaded. states the CMOS has the wrong date and time and to hit F1 to load setup or F2 to load the default CMOS settings.
at which point it immediately stops responding. if im quick, right when it tells me to hit F1 or 2 and i hit either, it will start that next screen up before it locks. Ive tried entering the BIOS prior to this screen and it does nothing. it will not boot to disk and im not sure what was done prior to this either... any help and thoughts are welcome!

Is this machine yours, or are you fixing it for someone else? The reason I ask is because maybe the owner tried to flash the BIOS with a newer version and it failed. Either that, or they used the wrong version for their MB, which would have a tendency to screw things up! Granted, I'm no expert and I may be way off base with that, but could that be possible?

    First change the CMOS battery.
This can occur when the battery is dead.
