BIOS only says 2.0 GHz for my Q9300?

    I was going through my bios on start up and it says my proc is 2.0 GHz? The multiplier is default to 7 on my Q9300. What happened to the other .5 GHz? How come the computer wont recognize it?

    Check that your board has the latest bios to support the cpu. If it doesn't, update your bios. Look up your mobo manual for how.

    If it does, try clearing cmos & load defaults in bios.

    I just read how to update BIOS in the manual. That sounds hard, I've never done that before. My brother in law has a computer programing degree, I'll have him try that!
