I need to remove the password in the bios. I do have the password, but when I turn on laptop and press
F2 it does not go to the setup screen. I have to enter the password and Windows starts. Is there another way into the bios setup?

Those methods did not work. The Toshiba service and support does not reconnize my laptop.

I fixed it. Had to go to Update ans Security/Recovery/Advanced Startup/clicked restart now/Troubleshoot/UEFI BIOS/clicked enter
Then had to restart computer and I was able to click F2 (then I still had to put in my password in to get to the bios) Used the arrows to go to Security tab entered the password click enter then I left the two other fields blank just clicked enter twice, saved and exit.

    I noticed that.
I also checked Toshiba Canada with no luck. Toshiba's service is not very good if you have an older PC.
But you fixed it. :) And that's great. :D

BTW What happened to the good old days when you restarted the PC and at the splash screen hit F1, F2, Esc or Delete, and you're in the BIOS?

I also miss those good old days when F1 (help) F2 (bios) F8 ( safe mode with are without networking, last known good configuration)
F10 or F12 (boot order). Ever since Win 8 it seem like they do not want you to fix your own computer. I'm going to keep fixing mine.

    Thanks again Eldon

UEFI and GPT have done nothing but make life more difficult for most users and are doing their bit to accelerate the decline of home computing. BIOS and MBR were well understood and have served us well ever since the PC first appeared. Only a tiny minority have need for UEFI/GPT.

On 8.1 and 10 try using the shift key while you click restart. Should take you to recovery environment the same as what you did. Is quicker for me.
