I can't remeber my BIOS password. Is there a program available for download that can retrieve it for me.

    Welcome to MG

Could you please give us more details.
    Which System ?
Which Motherboard ( Intel Based or AMD Based )
    Which BIOS Version?
Chk if a Factory Reset in BIOS is Available. Try that out

I run Windows XP on an IBM Thinkpad A31.

Not sure about my motherboard(although I think it's IBM based) or which version of BIOS I have.

    Hi Drwebi,
Simply starting the laptop without the BIOS or CMOS jumper will clear the password. You may be able to eyeball the motherboard to find the jumper or else you can find it in the documentation on your laptop. What you're looking for is a schematic of your mobo.
    Cheers,
    Bob
