Hi... not sure if this is the right place to post this, but....

Just upgraded from asus A7V8X to A7N8X and am very happy with the change. The BIOS was so pathetically limiting on the "v" that practically the only way you could affect any changes to the system was to instally tweaking apps. On the other hand the BIOS that comes with the "n" is almost TOO feature rich (if there is such a thing). Anyway, the result is that I'm glad for the change but much of it goes waaaaayyy over my head and I don't want to "guess" on anything.

Does anyone know a site that has a DECENT BIOS awardBios guide? By decent, I mean organized and with advice and recommendations re: settings. You would think that the folks who make the motherboards or the BIOS would have something like this, but I can't find anything more than some hacks who have posted what they think is the best way to configure a system.

    Thanks in advance...

This one looks (to me, anyway) serious and is company-based, not based on the whims of some self-styled guru who may or may not have any real expertise:

The header is "Index of Setup Fields for Award BIOS," and it's alphabetical.
The board won't let me get the whole URL in there. I've tried twice, and the chop-up doesn't work, so here it is in pieces:
    http://www.phoenix.com/en/customer
and the rest of it is (cut and paste)
    +services/bios/awardbios/setup+index.htm

    Hope this works for you.

Hey thanks, that looks pretty decent, upon first glance... but they don't seem to have much for folks who don't use Intel chipsets... but still looking.

Ah yes... I see that now... that's a very good little library... I'll have to print that out. Now (since I'm too lazy to research it all myself and have hurt too many pcs experimenting) I just need to find a hand-holding source of info that will guide me toward the optimal settings for the cavernous bucket of info. that is my new board's BIOS.
