Generally, BIOS updates are operating system independent, not specified for any specific one. One version may fix some issues with one or the other, but usually the newest is best, as that should have all earlier fixes.

However, if you've having no issues with your system, I wouldn't flash the BIOS, as BIOS updates either fix problems or offer support for newer CPUs, they are not performance upgrades like video card drivers. And a botched upgrade can leave your motherboard dead.

Perfect example of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." ;)

thanx for your thoughts, they make good sense, iwas willing to try the revision in that i occassionally have a problem w/graphics controller. xp pro will shut down when accessing a shared folder on home network, a kb article suggested a bios upgrade, thanks again i was skeptical of xp pro revision w/Me being the original install but that makes sense that the bios is independent of OS. i'll sit tight til the next bsod
