BIOS Repair Software - Failed Flash Update

Used the correct update on a NEC Laptop which indicated all went correctly. Now I bypass the BIOS in bootup (dark screen) as the F2 key (correct one to enter BIOS) doesn't work. Neither does, Esc, Del Keys, removing battery & hitting start key to drain capacitors(?). Couldn't find a CMOS battery as it may be part of the MOBO & therefore not removable or able to be put back.

Any software that might work would be appreciated.

The notebook is not totally stuffed as I boot into Vista OK. Don't even know if DVD ROM is first boot as can't get in. DOS application may be therefore out.

I would start by googling your laptop model number and BIOS. See if anyone else has had a similar experience. Post your model number here and a link to the update you used.

I haven't found anyone that has a similar problem. I'm wondering if BIOS would show on an external monitor? That might indicate that it is a strange video/graphics problem.

 

Tried but not a video/graphics problem. Thanks anyway for the suggestion.
