BIOS ROM checksum error-Any threads??

Any threads concerning a BAD flash?

Is it necessary to have an ISA Graphic Card installed whilst having a
BIOS ROM checksum error? (BOOT BLOCK)

Can someone help here?

 

If it is a newer board, it should have some sort of fail-safe such as dual bios or bios rescue. Look it up in the mobo manual in the bios section or the last.

I still have the same problem concerning BIOS ROM checksum error.

When I put a bootable floppy the Floppy drive LED remains lit but
nothing happens.
(The bootable floppy was extracted from drdflash.exe from Bootdisk.com.)

By the way....

The MB is ECS P6VAA Rev 1.0a. This has 2 ISA slots, 4 PCI Slots and AGP Slot. It takes Socket 370 platform for 1Ghz Processor & 3 SDRAMS.
It's a Pentium III MB.
When I put AGP card the screen appears so does with PCI and ISA Graphic Cards.
I do not really know how others did?

BIOS ROM checksum error means the bios you got is NOT for the mobo.

 

I tried to upgrade my BIOS from 1.0a to 1.1a.
The Bios Chip remained as it was.

 

What I mean is that I am in the Boot Block Section.
This Section is asking me to insert a sytem disk so
that the bios can be written on the chip.
But however, the floppy remains in a freezing state
without reading the content of the floppy disk.
