OK have you read through and answered the posts in your first thread on this?

Bios Shadowing is an adjustment you can do from within the motherboards BIOS to cache your video ( Graphic ) cards Bios thus giving a small performance gain.

if you could supply us this some Hardware specs and what OS you are using it will halp a great deal in helping us to possibly find the cause of your fault.... another thing is your discription is a little vague, you say your PC has died... what if anything does it do... does it switch on and power up, does anything come on screen, are their any error messages or beeps from the motherboard IF so whats the pattern.

if you can help us...we will try to help you but as we are not sitting infront of your PC we have to translate your discriptions into possible fixes.

fair enough.... I will attempt to make things as simple as possible.

First off what version of microsoft windows are you using? eg. 98, ME, XP

When you start your PC what actually happens.. a quick run through of whats happing in the attempts you are using to get it started and WHAT various buttons are you pressing.. are you being told by the PC to press these keys?

The hardware question was proberbly not a good one for me to ask you straight away.. so I will re-word it into, is it a branded computer like Compaq, Dell, HP etc etc or a home/shop custom build?

A small bit of background to Bios Shadowing.. its to do with your graphic card which is one of the first things your PC sees when it boots... so its possibly a fault with either your Graphic Card or maybe a setting in the motherboard bios ( motherboard is where all the parts of a PC plug into )

so by giving us as much info on whats happening when you hit the power up button we can quickly work out if we can help you.

    my oh-so-lovely bios....

hi Halo..I just got in from work. Ok, here is what I wrote down off the first thing that comes up. Oh, first, I just push alot of buttons, i.e. on/off, ct/alt/del, pause/break,esc, home, etc. it usually takes a few hours to power up. no-one told me to push these buttons, i just tried the & they work-some how. Ok, now, here goes most of what is on the 1st screen:

    phoenix bios 4.0 release 6.0
    bios version uo.o1.24p
    636k system ram passed
    127m extended ram passed
    512k cache sram passed

    system bios shadowed
    video bios shadowed

    atapi cd-rom vjda720 dvd/cdrw

    error 0200: failure fixed disk
warning 0251: system cmos checksum bad-default config. used

    f1-resume or f2-setup
and that is the bottom of that screen

this is a sotec laptop that is only a year old. I went on vacation and the guy at road runner said to make sure I unplug everything, It was all working before I left, and when I came home and plugged it in, this is what has been happening. i usually get home from work evrey night at this time, I really appreciate all the help you have been trying to give me. This has been such a royal pain.

Thank you once again!!!! Take care, Bella***

You hard drive is not being detected. Do you know how to remove the hard drive form the laptop? Sometimes, if you unscrew the hdd mounts, remove the drive and resecure it, it resolves the issue. If that doesn't fix it, it could very well be a bad drive.
