Hey heres a challege for anyone brave enough to attempt to take it!

    My System is as follows

    Cpu - Athlon 2000XP @ Stock 1.67ghz (133fsb)
    Ram - 512mb DDR 266mhz
    Hard Drive - 80GB IDE
    Graphics - Geforce 4 Ti4800
    Motherboard - XFX Mach 4 NF24ALH Nforce 2
    Bios - Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG

    Now heres the problem.

My motherboard can support up to 200mhz fsb
I want to overclock my old school system as i'm skint and need more performance.
I can up the fsb to about 140mhz before the PC reboots and has fits
Its not the Ram as i can underclock that.
The cpu at this fsb = 1.75Ghz which isn't much over stock.

I can't set cpu multiplyers or up the coltage to the cpu on my motherboard
So i set out to get a flash update for my bios in the hope a later one might have more options for overclocking and the likes as my bios is from 2003
Thing is i went to the bios's home page, they sent me to award bios's page then i got sent to another one where you have to pay for the flash!!
I then tried google with no luck.
Even XFX are useless now because they mostly deal with graphics cards only.

So people whos gonna be nice enough to help me find a bios update for my poor wee system so i get more Mhz for zeron £££ (i'm totally skint ...like totally)

    Any help is GREATLY APPRETIATED.
Feel free to email me aswell

    Thanks

The good news is that cpu is an awsome overclocker!

The bad news is the only way to unlock the multiplier is to get your hands dirty and modify the chip,Before you say its not for you,ITS NOT HARD,The computer I'm on now has an unlocked xp 1900,It took me all of an hour to do and its well worth it,especially since you have nothing to lose, you can pick up another xp2000 for the price of a drinking session.Heres a video that shows you exactly how to do it,You used to be able to close the bridges with a pencil, but now you have to fill in some small gaps that amd put there to stop you,in the video they use superglue but I think its too messy so I used car body filler,it also sets faster about 20 mins and you dont have to grip the chip and carve off the glue with a knife, just smooth off the filler with a peice of tissue

Now are you brave enough to attempt that!

they used to have athlon cpu unlocking kits at frozencpu.com but they no longer have them or aren't stocked ... maybe if you search you could fimd them elsewhere if you don't feel up to rikkis post

According to the guide so far it still explains to overclock the cpu after i butcher it i will need to raise the multiplier anyway.
I know there isn't a multiplier jumper on the motherboard and i don't have the option with my bios.
I know a bios update is available which may include a multiplier setting.
Thing is i can't find anywhere to supply the bios update for free.
What i'd like to do is if someone can help me out is aquire a flash for my bios, then see how far i can overclock if it has multiplier settings and voltage control.
If it still hiccups with that then i'll massacre my 2000xp and try that,

But untill i recieve a bios update i'm still stuck for just now :(
