Ok just to give some background.. I've searched the net, the forum and a few other places and I can't seem to get an answer. My system spec is below for reference.

After updating my Bios (Abit AW8D, Intel 975x) from Version 12 to Version 13 my CPU temperature jumps a good 20c!.. On their website link they listed one of the fixes as "CPU Temperature Abnormality".. That's a big fcukin "Abnormality" on a board marketed as an overclocker isn't it?

I tried to email their "tech support" and ask them "WTF are you doing, I spent $140 on JUNK over a year ago that I could get from PC Chips for $40!!".. But their US site won't load, page can't be displayed 90% of the time! I tried the UK version which loaded but the support request form just times out after hitting send and filling the stupid thing out.

I'm hoping someone here has seen or heard of something about this issue I've searched and found nothing! Lots of nice shiny reviews done before the last Bios update but nothing recent? Any other 975x with the same issue? I mean my machine is 110% solid at 3.7Ghz on version 12 of the bios but after the update to 13 it won't even touch 3.0Ghz before it overheats? At least the Bios is thinking it's overheating.

    My Spec:
Zalman 9700 110mm CPU Cooler (Aimed at 80mm Exhaust fan)
Intel Pentium D 2.8Ghz (Rock Solid at 3.7ghz)
    2048MB (2GB) DDR2 Dual Channel 800Mhz RAM (G-Skill)
    ABIT AW8D Intel 975X chipset
    ATI Sapphire Radeon 4830 512MB PCI-E
GPU Exhaust sitting right under the 4830
    160GB SATA HDD
    SB Audigy
    BGF 650W PSU
    Vista Ultimate 32Bit

Have you tried the USA ABIT Forum as you may find someone with similar problem although i was unable to connect to it tonight. According to the link I have put below your Bios update should be reversable, I know its not a solution but it would stabalise your Rig again. Reference to BIOS reverse is about three quarters of the way down on the Link page. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

I'll look at the abit forum see whats in there, should have thought of that first! I've dropped back to version 12 from 13 and everything is 100% stable again. I just want to be 100% sure that the board is reporting the correct temperature using version 12 and not 13 as suggested by abit's website.. that isn't always available.
