Bios update

Hi folks, how are we this evening...

quick question for you all...

I need to do a bios update on the new pc, its working fine and dandy with no probs.... except the temp of the cpu is wrong...

The cpu is running at a nice low temp, but its showing as being 76' c.... if it was that the thing would be shutting down.

I know this is an error and the bios update will "calibrate" the sensor.

now... i dont have a floppy in the machine, dont really use them at all anymore, is there a way to do the update from cd? i.e. can I make a bootable cd with the appropreate files on?

Yes, you can do it via a bootable CD, and also via your hard drive, which probably will be easier.

hi bud, thanks for the reply....

read thru but, it seems that no matter which of the sections I read, it still wants me to make a floppy boot disc....

how can I do it with using a floppy at all?

Some manufacturers supply flash utilities for people without floppies, have you checked for your model?

Or you can just create a bootable CD, and copy the flash file to it.

Most burning programs can easily create one.
