Bios window on boot

    Good afternoon. During the boot process, the Compaq logo window shows first then the bios window, (I think that is what its called) then Windows. How do I keep the bios window open long enough to read it. It only shows for a couple of seconds. Thank you

    Usually you can press the Pause key (yes, it usually works) or you can press Tab or Esc...

    On compaqs the key to enter BIOS used to be F10. It has been a while but I think you wait until after the Compaq screen and hit F10 a few times. The exact timing may have something to do with watching until the cursor changes from the left side of the screen to the right side. If Windows begins to start then you are too late, restart and try again.
