G'day,I try to keep my laptop in good condition.I often recieve an update message from my ASUS regarding upgrading my bios.I am unclear if it's going to make any difference,or improve it.I hesitate,as i hardly want everything to not work.Any advice would be good.I am a novice at computing.

Also after a year of use,downloading this,or that..i would love to restart my whole computer again,deleting all except the system essentials.I have the disks the computer came with.I tried system restore,but it only goes back so far.I really would like to bring it back to when i bought it..any advice,hints,free downloadable sites..would be appreciated.:cool

To be honest, BIOS updates are only really needed if your having a specific issue that they will address, if your not having issues that are related to a BIOS update its worth leaving them alone, at times updating a BIOS could bring new problems and also a dead motherboard if the update is not sucessful.

Yes a complete re-install is a good option but also brings with it a long time in installing all your favoured software and security updates for the OS. You could just clean up the OS you have now, remove all none used applications, run a few cleanup routines http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=106650 and see how your PC works after running these steps.
