    hello
I was just re-reading my Dell owner's guide and it recommended upgrading the BIOS.
If I remember correctly, upgrading the BIOS can be dangerous.
I gather you do it at the manufacturers's site.
It probably makes the pc run better but is it worth the risk?

    Thank you

Another vote for NO! Of course Dell would suggest updating because if you screw it up, they get to sell you another computer.

I've updated the BIOS on two computers because I had a specific problem on each computer and the BIOS update solved the problem.. I've owned 13 computers and the other 11 were happy using the BIOS that came when the computer was new.

The first pc I got, I updated with the adVice and help of a Dell tech while all was under warranty.
It went from A-1 to A11 whatever that means.
I will consider doing it if I am properly advised that there is a specific issue that it will correct, and otherwise, will forget it.
Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
    Peter
