As per suggestions in the malware forum, I'm running tweaking.com's utility for Windows Repair, but in the meantime I thought I'd ask if anyone knew how I can reset my BIOS, and not to default, but rather something like a CMOS or jumper reset (I'm running a laptop). Would doing so wipe the password? It just up and changed on me. I swear, I have all my passwords written down.

I know a lot of forums won't provide help with BIOS passwords, I'm not asking for illegal methods, only legal ones and if forum posters are uncomfortable providing that kind of help might you answer the question as to whether or not a technical support technician might be able to reset them? I can't do it on my own, I've heard of flashing BIOS and have done it on older desktops I had, but my computer's Flash utility from the Dell website (InSyde) won't do it so I need some experienced help. Thanks in advance.

to reset the BIOS you need to remove the CMOS Battery and leave it out for 5-10 minutes and then put the battery back in and reboot. Your BIOS should have resetted back to factory settings.

Does UEFI use a CMOS/Jumper. I just realized I'm referring to BIOS when my computer uses UEFI. Thanks for the article, I'll get the case open if all else fails. I'm using a laptop.
