i accidently press deflault at the bios and my pc is crawling

games hang
ie hang

how do i set the bios to peak performance as before

Most BIOSes have a "Load Optimized Defaults" in there somewhere. It almost sounds like the processor clock was slowed down when you hit that. I know for sure that my multiplier and bus speed are changed to an incorrect value. Check your BIOS screen when the computer first boots to see if in fact your processor speed is running slower/normal/etc.
