bios?

    i have a piece of software that says my bios are out of date. what exactly are bios and why do i need to update them? Can i just leave it at what it is?

    BIOS is short for basic input output system. These instructions tell your computer what type of hardware is attached and generally handles the low level calls to these devices. As for leaving your bios as is, that will be fine. The only reason to update a bios is to fix a problem that you are having. If your computer is doing ok, then by all means skip the update.
