bios

    i was doing a bios update when the power went off
    now my pc will power on but not open windows or anything
    my board is an ASUS CUV4X Rev. 1.03.
    is my board toast or can i fix it?
    all help greatly appreciated
    thanks in advance
    p.s my monitor stays as if my pc is not on

    Given my limited knowledge, this has always been my worst fear concerning bios flashing. I know you can pull the chip, send it off and have it flashed, but their may be a better solution. I've read of being able to flash the chip in another computer. You may want to Google it for the exact procedure.

    There is usally a BIOS flash failure procedure on decent mobos. You have to set up a special floppy disk that will automatically attempt a reflash. Check the ASUS site for the procedure for your mobo.
