    just for grins,:D , I started to scan this laptop with bitdefender ; it showed an estimated time for completion in excess of 68 hours --- whats going on?

    No, seriously ....it is an inaccurate estimate ...probably almost done by the time I post this reply ...:wave

    Are you running any other programs at the same time your scanning with AV?

    I'm gonna try it in safe mode.

    Tim, the properties display shows the hd size is 25gb
    I gotta believe that the enourmous estimate was, as you suggested, just inaccurate
