I am looking for opinions as I can' t decide between one or the other. I want the Internet suites and prefer a paid for service ( false security, I know). I am currently on Shaw Cable internet using their free Shaw Secure Suite ( which is F-Secure in disguise ). I am tired of it detecting something and rarely ever able to remove it, which, as I have read lately, is a common complaint of F-Secure. My three boys and wife use this machine non stop + gaming and I have little time to babysit the computer and do repairs or run manual scans. I/we do lots of gaming so I don't wan't a resource hog slowing the machine down as I won't allow my kids to disable protection when they are gaming.

    Would Love feed back!

    Thanks in Advance,

They both have pretty good detection rates, Kaspersky's may be a bit better, but I hear about a lot more problems associated with it. BitDefender is easy to set up and use, and they have a friendly forum in addition to email help.

    Thanks for the reply.

So you think I am better off with Bit defender? How is it for slowing your system down with on demand scanning? I did like its ability for realtime scanning of P2P messenger etc. Also the parental controls. I don't like the kids having the ability to bypass or turnoff security. Kids aren't too smart sometimes and most off my virus/adware issues come from their profiles. It's unfortunate I have to give them administrator accounts in order for some of the games to run.

Just a side Note, last night I scanned my system 3 times.

1- Shaw secure (f-Secure) it found System Clean, then
2- Scanned with Bitdefender Online scan, Found and removed three Trojans but could not remove a fourth.
3- Scanned with Microsoft online scan. It found the remaining file (turn out to be adware) and removed it.

Long story short, I want a high removal success rate as well.

    Thanks,

    Benamin
