Bitdefender is definitely better than average. But this is unacceptable.
All I can suggest is to look at the scan settings. If you're not sure take a screenshot of the options and upload it.

I have downloaded the manual but can't see anything that would significantly increase the scanning time.

Are you just scanning your boot partition or everything and if the latter how much data do you have (on have many drives?)

Also is your drive(s) SSD or HDD. Goes a lot faster on SSD

I use Avast and for the boot partition which is on an SSD and is quite small it takes just over 2 minutes

I'll have 50 each-way on "Bad Install"...........won its last 3 starts, first back from a spell and drawn well.

 

I dont have it in the security tool bag, but if you must......uninstall, clean up and fresh install with all your other security suites disabled.

I get canned for it every other day , but I love malwarebytes as a basic, 'non-interfering' application that is low on resources and provides me with super-fast scan activity if needed.

It seems others think that an AV must be better if its very noisy and catches loads of false's, never could understand this?

Anyway, just me!
