(This is long and I apologize in advance). Well, here's my problem. And first off, I just want to say that I am not going to blame MajorGeeks in this request for help, you'll see why soon enough. So, what's happening with my computer is rather odd. I'll start with what's happening. First of all, my mouse moves on it's own, yet it only moves from side to side, and it often becomes stuck to one side! Another problem is that my computer is acting strangely slow, but not entirely slow. It's only slow with some programs, video game programs for one, and some aspects of the computer. When I try to burn a CD, it takes forever just to "convert" the track when it used to only take seconds! Now, that's what's going on. This is why it all started (I don't know the reason, I only know the cause, mind you.) I downloaded a program called GameXP from this website because it would allow me to tweak my PC for the benefit of games like Black and White (amazing game, by the way). It gave me the option of backing up my PC before I did anything, which I took. Then I pressed a button that "optimized" my PC. However, it disabled my Autorun on my PC, and CDs weren't being read (I have recently fixed that problem). So I decided that it was useless because Black and White was unplayable. I clicked on the button that would bring me back to my original state on my PC. Yet, when it did that, the AutoRun was still gone, and everything was changed. The folders looked different and my games ran really slow, including the music, which breaks up a lot now. The mouse thing was happening before all this took place. Now, this is the best I can describe what's happening because this is what I know, I'm not too knowledgeable on PCs as much as I would like to be, so if there can be anything anyone has to say that might help me, please do not hesitate to say it. This has become rather annoying and I fear that the longer I go on downloading programs and trying my best to fix this without any knowledge, the more damage I'm liable to do. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out.

To fix what the software did do an in-place upgrade. On XP it is fairly painless. If the program did to much damage to the registry though this may not work and I would suggest a fresh install at that point.

I have had this mouse problem before. Is it an optical mouse. If so the optical reader is not working correctly and you need a mouse...sorry.

Anyone else have any other suggestions???
