Bizarrest Deal Ever? -- Anyone Ever Seen This?

I have a Windows 7 laptop (Asus). The view is landscape. The screen does not rotate, never has, is not meant to.

Last night I was on my Windows 8 tablet (a piece of junk from Samsung). The screen is detachable; the screen does rotate, like IPhones, many others. I set the tablet BESIDE the laptop which was also powered on. When I returned 5 mins later, the screen on the laptop had rotated. I tried a variety of things to orient the laptop screen correctly, none worked. I finally did a system restore to one week ago and it came back in correct orientation.

Can anyone explain what happened?

 

RFI, WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC interference?

 

Thank you, satrow and LauraR. Both comments and questions make sense. I may be narrowing it down, too. Laura, no, the laptop screen had the same components sideways as it did in normal landscape orientation. That skewed them so badly, though, as to make them unreadable practically. Oddly -- or maybe not, in this case -- the mouse became very squirrelly (which doesn't happen even in the animal kingdom, I don't think). One of my neighbors checked and found that my immediate neighbor ( --->) has a wifi connection, too; and possibly / probably Bluetooth; so the interference suggestion is getting some credibility. Honestly, I thought my router signal to my laptop and phone were pure and so would a neighbor's be to his devices but perhaps that's not true. IF that's what the deal is.
