Black Boxes Where Most Desktop Icons Should Be

Hi Geeks,

I still have not solved this issue. One suggestion the last time I reached out worked right up until I rebooted, puff black boxes again.

I am running Win 7 IE 11; Chrome seems to be working fine, but I. I only use Chrome when I come to a site that will not allow IE 11 so I don't know it very well.

I tried your response yesterday and all was good. All the icons showed up it was get. Until the reboot, puff they were gone.

Well, I guess this is my life until I go to Win 10 .

BTW, I did run Adwacleaner prior to doing it.

Yesterday I took my time and followed all directions to a T (again) and everything started out OK. I noticed that before I even rebooted my icons where all back. Then what happened next when the run box (?) popped up and said to hit any key to reboot I could hit every key on the keyboard to no avail. I finally had to do a restart, wrong answer, when it rebooted the icons were all black again.

Any ideas, this is really starting to bug me. I know Win 10 is the next faze but I am not ready to go there yet. Heck I still run on my old laptops (2) I just don't go online with them...

I have googled this to death and have not a correct answer to date. I guess I deal with it and year or so
