Can you try to boot into safe mode?

Tap F8 while your pc is booting and then Select Safe Mode.

I believe the 7GB partition contains the files needed to do a recovery to factory gate state. Your cousin should have a recovery CD which you need to boot the system. That reads the recovery data and restores the original operating system to the C drive.

Well I already cleaned the drive out but theres still a partition left on it that I cant delete
but when I do the install it doesnt show up as another drive when I install the vista It skips the gathering information step and then goes to the next step that extracts the files gets to 65% and quits whats the problem here do i need to format the drive again and delete that restore partion thats corrupted or try installing xp then upgrade it from there?

Could you explain exactly what you are trying to do? Are you attempting to use a recovery disk, or are you using a Vista installation disk of some sort? If so, what sort, OEM, upgrade or retail?

If you are trying to use a recovery CD then you must not tamper with the 7GB partition or you will destroy it, if you haven't already done so.

Put in the recovery CD. Turn on the computer and press F10. This will use the restore CD and hidden 7GB partition to restore the vaio to factory condition.
