Black Screen Before Bios

    im all of the sudden got a
    black screen before bios for a min, then i have to wait to log into windows. im using a friends pc with win 7. any conserns i should have ? thank you !!!

    Do you see a BIOS screen every time before the Windows 7 log in screen loads? That is not normal.

    As far as a black screen, usually the logo of the manufacturer of the screen appears, (the background on some of my monitors is black and on another it is white) then the keys you can press to boot into setup or boot menu and last the log in screen.

    there was never a logo. just went to the bios settings. now a black screen for about a min then it takes a min before i can type in my password. its just always been quick. im worried something is starting to fail. cheers plodr !!!

    Well if it goes to the BIOS when you turn it on, something is not correct. Take some time and look over EVERYTHING in the BIOS because the computer is trying to tell you something. (Probably that the CMOS battery needs changing).

    im sorry no it doesnt go to bios, just this black screen then bios keys F1 F2, ect like normal. then i cant type in my windows password right away like i used too. i'll have a look in the bios and see if anything looks funny cheers plodr !!!

    Must you press F1 or F2? If so, which one do you press?
